1. What Lavatorio is

Lavatorio is a community-maintained directory of publicly reachable bathrooms. All locations, hours, fees, door codes, ratings, reviews, and photos are submitted by users. We make no guarantee that any listing is accurate, current, open, clean, free, or, frankly, a bathroom at all. Use your judgment before relying on a listing — especially in an emergency.

2. Your account

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password private. You must be 13 or older to create an account. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the reviews and photos you submit, and you grant Lavatorio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute them as part of the service. You may delete your own reviews at any time from your profile.

4. Content rules

• No photos of people. Photos are automatically screened and rejected if a person is detected, but automation isn't perfect — if a photo with an identifiable person slips through, flag it and moderators will remove it. Deliberately attempting to upload photos of people, especially in or near bathrooms, will result in an immediate ban and may be reported to authorities.
• No harassment, hate speech, or threats in reviews.
• No false door codes, fake listings, or deliberately misleading information.
• No spam, advertising, or off-topic content.
• Only list bathrooms the public can lawfully access.

5. Moderation

Any signed-in user can flag a review or photo. Moderators may remove content, resolve flags, and restrict accounts at their discretion, with or without notice. Flagging content maliciously or repeatedly without cause may itself be treated as a violation.

6. Privacy basics

We store your email, username, password hash, and contributions. Location metadata is read from uploaded photos to place a bathroom on the map, then stripped from the stored image. We don't sell your data. The Privacy Policy explains retention, service providers, export, and account deletion in more detail.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lavatorio is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or your visits to any listed location. Conditions on the ground — cleanliness, safety, fees, access, the presence of soap — are outside our control.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. We'll date the latest revision at the top of this page.
